Alan Cooper is known for her role do the 'humanization' of software development and Microsoft Visual Basic for. She got the role as the father of Visual Basic.

In 1988, Alan created a visual programming language with the code name Ruby. After demonstrating Ruby on Bill Gates, Microsoft is very interested and decided to buy it.

Gates said Alan innovation created will affect all Microsoft product lines. Microsoft decided to transform it into a professional development tool from QuickBASIC programming language called Visual Basic.

The first book written about Visual Basic titled The Waite Group's Visual Basic How-To written by Mitchell Waite, specifically dedicated to Alan Cooper. Here, he is referred to as the Father of Visual Basic.
