Goodreads purchase by Amazon 'to harm' Apple?

Apple apparently was interested in cooperation with Goodreads. Unfortunately, this plan did not materialize, after annexing the Amazon site for enthusiasts of the book giant.

This report by the Wall Street Journal revealed that getting information from people who know the problem. Goodreads, a site popular book recommendation is understood to have held talks with Apple for more than 1 year, quoted from the WSJ, Saturday (04/20/2013).

Goodreads's service, where it allows users to share and give ratings on what they read, was originally going to be integrated into the iBookstore.

Well, when Apple wanted to follow up on the conversation around March, reported Goodreads cool and calm, do not respond. The reason is presumably stronger due process of purchasing the site with over 16 million members it by Amazon.

Amazon and Apple itself is known as a competitor in the realm of digital media. Amazon has earned a good share in the digital music download business where the realm is still dominated by iTunes.

The competition got hotter, as digital books and media businesses to grow and become one of the important features for buyers tablet computers.

The acquisition by Amazon Goodreads expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2013. Both parties do not provide the information menganai acquisition value.
