Microsoft has officially announced about the closure and move all Hotmail users to Outlook. This change was not easy, because it involves 150 petabytes of data.

The data is owned 300 million Hotmail users who are actively using the service. Microsoft claimed to be very careful in the process because it involves the convenience of users of services.

"To provide the best experience in Outlook, this time we're focusing on the process of upgrading," said Dick Craddock, Program Manager for Outlook.com.

If nothing goes wrong the data migration process from Hotmail to Outlook is scheduled to be completed during the 6 weeks. Quite long indeed, as Microsoft admitted not as easy as it moved 150 petabytes of data equivalent to 157 million gigabytes.

As an illustration, if the data is entirely the song, it takes at least 300 thousand years to listen to all the music.

And if the data is collected in the form of a DVD, then pile the tiles can be 6 times higher than Mount Everest. Wow!
