Written By Blog Walker on Apr 27, 2010 | 4/27/2010

Using nofollow attribute

Creating the attribute rel = "nofollow" on links to search engines will be instructed not to give 'reputation' of your page to page through. In the eyes of search engines, a link to another page will increase the 'reputation' target pages. The higher the 'reputation', then the better position on search engine pages.
Nofollow can be placed as a link attribute
  (rel = "nofollow") or applicable to the entire page if placed on the head  (<meta
name = "robots" content = "nofollow">)

Search Suggestions:

* Using the nofollow attribute on links which are made freely by visitors, such as blog comments, guest books, referrer lists, forums, etc..
Common mistakes in SEO that should be avoided:

* Without using the nofollow attribute, your blog or web links are prone to SPAM, SPAM links to pages can reduce the 'reputation' on your web.
