A Film Attacking Samsung became Spotlight

 Park Jung-kyu, president of the New Daily Biz, an online media in South Korea, suspected of ordering his editor to repeal article about the film that attacks Samsung titled Another Promise. Samsung touted role behind this action.

This information was accidentally leaked by letter of apology Park to Samsung. In his letter, Park also informed that the article has been removed at the request of the Galaxy gadgets pembesut series.

Unfortunately, the letter sent to other media. As reported by The Verge, then publish the media, but with the sender's name removed.

Posted on February 5, 2014, article that discusses the Promise Another movie review how celebrities spend their money to fund the film screening. Another Promise tells the story about a fictional character Hwang Sang-ki whose daughter died of leukemia at the age of 23 years.

Hwang Yu-mi, thus the name of his daughter, getting cancer due to exposure to toxic chemicals in the factory of Samsung in Suwon. The filmmakers say they accidentally changed the details in the film to avoid lawsuits from Samsung.

For example, naming the Samsung factory into Jinsung. However, Koreans seem to be able to recognize if the film tells Samsung.

The film attracted attention for being the first Korean movie that is fully funded from private donations and disbursement of celebrities. This donation movement becomes part of the action that highlights care workers working conditions of employees in a semiconductor factory.

Group care workers Supporters for the Health and Rights of People in the Semiconductor Industry mention, there are about 200 million semiconductor plant employees are chemical poisoning. But very few of them are able to get compensation.

  2. Great job here.  I really enjoyed what you had to say.  Keep going because you definitely bring a new voice to this subject.  Not many people would say what you've said and still make it interesting.  Well, at least Im interested.  Cant wait to see more of this from you.
